Before you know it, the year will be coming to a close and it will be time to ring in a new year once again alongside family and friends. This time around, make sure you’ve made plans to celebrate in unforgettable fun and style by booking your New Year’s adventure to Orlando! There’s nothing more refreshing or exciting than knowing you get to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Orlando theme parks packed with amazing shows, food, entertainment, and rides and activities as well. Whether you’re looking forward to a bit of Disney magic on the itinerary, can’t wait to infuse cinematic thrills into your fun at Universal, or have a heart for a creative New Year’s at LEGOLAND, the options are endless and yours for the enjoying. The following are just a few of the many ways you can celebrate New Year’s in Orlando Parks this year exactly the way you dreamed it would be.

Celebrate New Year’s in Orlando Parks

Walt Disney World has a way of taking all of their celebrations to the next magical level of fun and New Year’s is no exception to the rule! The majority of the parks stay open until midnight on New Year’s Eve giving guests every reason to linger until the fireworks. The beauty of a New Year’s celebration at Disney World is that there are a lot of special holiday surprises throughout the day. These can include performances, fun character meet-and-greets, or dazzling displays of light that are sure to thrill as well. If you find yourself spending most of your time at Magic Kingdom, you’ll be immersed in stunning holiday décor and right on time to enjoy the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks display. Cinderella’s Castle will be illuminated at midnight much to the delight of New Year’s crowds, but in the meantime, don’t miss out on picking up some New Year’s desserts that will be served up at Tomorrowland Terrace during show times. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting in on the New Year’s Fun as well this year with a ton of holiday cheer included! The Santa Claus Merry Motorcade will still be running along Hollywood Boulevard on December 31st and the Hollywood Tower Hotel will be lit up too! Disney World Hollywood Studios will also have its own midnight fireworks show which is definitely worth sticking around for!

Savor Time at SeaWorld Orlando This New Year’s Eve

When you’re looking forward to ringing in the New Year alongside some amazing marine creatures, SeaWorld Orlando is the place to be. Here, you can celebrate your connection with sea life, the ocean, and the entire world no matter when you arrive. Over New Year’s there’s even more to look forward to thanks to a planned unforgettable evening of animals, thrilling rides, shows, and a fireworks display at the central lake at midnight. This is a family-friendly way to enjoy New Year’s that you’re certainly going to want to be a part of this year.

Enjoy the Fun at Universal Orlando

When you purchase an admission ticket to Universal Orlando over New Year’s, the festive fun is all included in the cost. This makes it a great place to celebrate and a wonderful choice if you’re traveling with a large group of family or friends too. Once you’re through the gate, there’s a good chance it will feel like festive surprises are around every corner—especially if you’re enjoying time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! There’s a star-studded and undeniably glitzy New Year’s Eve party to take part in on the eve of December 31st and before the event, guests can make the most of thrilling rides, attractions, and shows. At night, great music will be yours to enjoy and the midnight countdown culminates in a breathtaking fireworks display. If you head over to Universal City Walk, you can ring in 2023 at Hard Rock Live and pair the start of your New Year with amazing classic albums.

Let Creativity Lead the Way to Fun in the New Year

If you’re traveling with the kids to Orlando over New Year’s Eve, Legoland Florida Resort is a one-stop shop for holiday fun that’s suitable for the entire family! Legoland will be putting on a Kids’ New Year’s Eve fireworks display which showcases colorful bricks bursting to life in the night sky over Lake Eloise. Instead of midnight, this show happens at 8:00 pm to accommodate young bedtimes. Before the show, there’s plenty of creativity and artistic inspiration to indulge in as kids round out the end of their year with some seriously fun brick building on-site!

When travelers from across the globe are looking for a vacation destination where they can make the most of magical moments, setting their sights on Orlando, Florida is always the right choice. This inviting and exciting city is a place where travelers with interests of all types can easily embrace the fun! From time enjoying nature and exploring amazing museums to top-notch dining and shopping too, Orlando has just about everything you could need to customize an amazing getaway from start to finish.

It’s also a city known and loved for its stellar theme parks. Home to Walt Disney World and the collection of captivating characters that so many have loved since childhood, heading this way is an opportunity for adventurers to let go of stress and embrace imaginative moments at their very best for a while instead! For decades, Disney Orlando has found routes to providing audiences with fascinating stories and world-building adventures that are truly one-of-a-kind. The animated movie Moana offered up a movie tale of inspiration for audiences of all ages, not to mention a catchy soundtrack that viewers quickly fell in love with. While Disney World has a way of always moving towards new and exciting projects, the opening of Journey of Water, inspired by Moana in late 2023 is an attraction that you’re simply not going to want to miss!

A Place Where Water is Going to Come to Life in Disney Style

While construction has long been underway at Journey of Water, this Moana-inspired attraction at Disney Word is slated to open to the public on October 1, 2023. Cast previews are scheduled to begin at the end of July and run through August prior to the attraction’s opening day. Visitors will be able to enjoy Moana’s Journey of Water attraction in World Nature in Epcot which makes perfect sense as this area of the park is dedicated to highlighting the beauty and balance of the natural world. The arrival of Journey of Water inspired by Moana is part of Disney World’s greater effort to overhaul the area of the park that occupies space between World Showcase and Spaceship Earth. Fans of Moana are particularly excited to see this attraction added to the park map as it’s the very first of its kind designed and inspired by the film. The attraction will be replacing Journey Into Imagination and a portion of Innoventions West. Based on early concept art designs that have been released, it appears guests will be able to use the Journey of Water attraction to easily access the Seas and Land pavilions in Epcot too.

Disney Orlando Attraction Specifics

Journey of Water, inspired by Moana, is slated to be a self-guided outdoor trail rather than a traditional ride experience at Epcot. This means it will be suitable for guests of all heights and ages to enjoy. Plans indicate the attraction will be an interactive trail that’s fun for everyone and fully inspired by the animated film’s aesthetic. Guests will be invited to follow the trail and interact with water as it moves from the sky to the oceans and around again in an inspiring and magical pathway. The trail is designed to provide insight into the importance of water on earth and provide water with a personality all its own much like Moana’s discovery in the movie.

The walkway is going to be an experience in lush tropical surroundings as visitors take time to enjoy learning how water sustains the world. The trail is meant to be as educational as it is engaging, giving guests a reason to walk the path again and again. A highlight of this attraction is definitely going to be the larger-than-life Te Fiti figure that dominates the center of the trail. It’s designed to be an exact replica of the island goddess depicted in the beloved film and is sure to not only delight guests but provide some incredible photo opportunities too. While Disney World is packed with exciting attractions and rides for guests to enjoy during a visit, making time to be a part of the Journey of Water attraction opening is bound to be thrilling. Whether you’re a Moana film fan or just excited to see what Disney Orlando has in store next, keeping October 1, 2023, on your calendar promises to be worth your while.

Heading to Orlando is always a thrilling prospect for travelers. Whether you’re someone with a heart for theme parks or you’re looking to explore the city’s vibrant downtown scene, Orlando is packed with opportunities for customized fun and adventure for everyone. Many visitors look forward to Disney’s After Hours events in Orlando and after a three-year hiatus, these highly anticipated events are officially back in 2023! New dates have recently been announced for winter, spring, and summer 2023 much to the delight of Disney enthusiasts from near and far. Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon have been added to the lineup as well as additional dates for Hollywood Studios. Whether you check out one or make the most of them all, experiencing Disney’s After Hours Orlando events is simply something you won’t want to miss.

A Disney Experience to Remember

Disney’s After Hours events can be enjoyed with the purchase of a separate ticket from general park admissions. These tickets are specific for the After Hours events and give those who have purchased entrance the option to enter the park an hour before closing without needing to invest in regular admissions too! Each After Hours event runs approximately 3 hours in total and provides guests with fun, attractions, and snacks to enjoy for the duration. Disney’s After Hours events are often compared to events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but there are a few notable differences. The After Hours events aren’t marked by extra parades and because they kick off after regular park hours, guests can enjoy an event that’s relatively non-crowded.

The beauty of a Disney After Hours event is that ticketholders can enjoy the feeling of having the park to themselves! In 2023, After Hours events will offer guests access to more than 20 attractions and wait times will be minimal as ticket numbers are strategically limited. The event will of course include several tasty snack options that are included in the cost of the ticket and if you head over to stops like Magic Kingdom around 7:00 pm, you can enjoy the fireworks displays in the evenings before the After Hours event even officially starts. Can’t wait to enjoy a Mickey Ice Cream Bar—they’re all-you-can-eat and free during the After Hours events with the purchase of a ticket.

Exciting Event Highlights

By far, one of the biggest highlights of attending a Disney After Hours event in 2023 will be the many attractions ready and waiting to be enjoyed without the massive lines or crowds to contend with. Rides that are notoriously packed with guests like Rise of the Resistance or the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be refreshingly accessible if you land tickets to these After Hours events. In the past, wait times have averaged around 20 minutes and sometimes gone as low as a 5-minute wait! Early entry to the parks without having to purchase a general admission ticket is another perk of the After Hours ticket which gives guests a head start on attractions if they’re looking to check as many as possible off their list. If you’re attending the Magic Kingdome, Epcot or Hollywood Studios After Hours event, you can enter the park at 7:00 pm giving you anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours of added time on the attractions before the After Hours fun begins. For Disney food enthusiasts, the After Hours event highlight is sure to be the combination of savory and sweet moments available. In addition to the Mickey Ice Cream Bars that are readily available, guests who attend an After Hours event can enjoy free popcorn, water, beverages, and customized event snacks on-site as well.
